If we can't read or eat the ingredients on dog treats ourselves, why would we feed them to our furry friends? On this special cross-over episode of "Mandich Monday" on daytime London on Rogers TV, Gillian teamed up with Laurie from A.R.F Ontario to teach you how to make yummy, healthy dog treats.

  • 3 cups of whole wheat flour
  • 2 free range eggs
  • 1/4 cup natural peanut butter
  • 1 broth cube (chicken, beef, or veggie flavour)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup sugar free apple sauce

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients. Mix well to form dough.

  3. Let the dough chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes or until chilled.

  4. Roll out mixture to 1/4-inch thick, and cut out treats with a cookie cutter. Reroll the scraps and continue cutting out biscuits.

  5. Place treats 1 inch apart on a baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until nicely browned and firm.

  6. Transfer treats to a wire rack and let cool. Store in an airtight container up to 2 weeks.

  7. Feed treats to your dog as a reward for good behaviour - or as desired.
